Finnin’

We had a “slightly” busy day today. I spent the majority of the day tidying up around the house. Then, I decided to take Hailey swimming finnin’ at the Phillip’s Park Aquatic Center. I have been meaning to check out this place for some time now and today seemed like a fairly appropriate day to do so since I didn’t really want Hailey dropping Cheerios on the floor and then stomping them into my freshly scrubbed carpets. So, we spent the afternoon out. She absolutely loved the aquatic park! She was nothing but smiles and giggles the entire time were there, until we left, of course.

We made it home for a quick change of clothes and then back out again because we are selling our town home and tonight was our FIRST showing! Keep your fingers crossed for us and say a little prayer!

What did you do today?

We were just wondering what you did today?

We watched garfield carfoot while playing with our trumpet chumpet. That didn’t stop us from drinking some milk nook and eating some mini corn dogs chicken though! Before the day ended, we all said love you laa-luu.

Leave us a comment and tell us how your day was. As Hailey would put it, “Got it?” =)

Chumpet

Do any of you know what a “chumpet” is? I do, now. It is shown here in the picture below.

20 Month Growth Chart

Hailey went in for a couple of vaccinations this morning. She took it better than me this time. :( I just have to say, becoming a mom and doing research here and there and meeting all kinds of wonderful mothers through the blogging world; vaccinations seem to be a bit of a touchy subject. I respect anyone’s decisions on what they choose to do and not to do for their children. That’s what makes being a parent so special.

Anyway, she’s inching up the weight chart a little bit but to me, she’s looking skinnier. I think she’s just losing that baby fat. She’s just going to love this one when she’s older. :) I forgot to find out her height. I’ll have to call them and update the height chart later.

I use the Baby Growth Chart online found HERE. It saves your information each time if you register (free).

It’s your day

Happy Father’s Day to this guy:

Eric,

You are an amazing father to our precious little girl. I thank God for you every day, even the days you make me want to pull my hair out. :) I watch you with Hailey and my heart smiles. You couldn’t be a more perfect father and husband. I absolutely cherish all of these years we’ve spent together. You gave me the most beautiful daughter. When I look at her, I see us. I held her tonight on the rocking chair and was reminded that she was created out of our love. She is our miracle.

I love you more than ever in our 10th year together. You’ve more than proven what a wonderful, caring man you are in your second year of fatherhood. I will never forget the day I gave birth to Hailey. After visiting with her in the NICU, you returned to my hospital room with tears in your eyes and said, “she’s so tiny”. Such a simple phrase but I knew that right at that moment the three of us would share a bond that nothing could ever break.

Hailey is such a lucky girl to have you as her father. I see how she lights up when you walk into the room. I have to say, I know the feeling.

Bananatini Party at Hailey’s

We’ve been EXTREMELY busy this past week with cleaning and packing. Apparently, I haven’t been very “fun” for Hailey so she decided to have herself a little cocktail party. I didn’t get an invitation, did you?

Will hopefully be back to blogging full time pretty soon! Stay put!

Do as the Hoosiers do

Hailey spent the day hanging with her three cousins at Uncle Terry’s house. Terry and Charlene have such a beautiful backyard, complete with a deck, privacy fence, mature trees and swing set. These are all thing we are hoping to have in our backyard when we have a house in Indy someday (soon, hopefully).

The cousins just loved playing with Hailey! They helped her go down the slide and play in the sandbox.

She was very polite and kept offering her cousins the shovel “shov”. They even helped her jump a little bit on the trampoline. Christin is a pro at that.

Mandie even tried to get Hailey to run through the sprinkler but she just wasn’t into that right now.

What she REALLY wanted to do was play in Aunt Charlene’s garden fountain. She found it very entertaining to lift up the stones from the bottom and drop them back in. I suppose I should have been watching her a little more closely because little ones can get dirty pretty quickly if you don’t keep a watchful eye on them, or so I found out today.

Well, it was so nice to stop in Indy for a visit before heading back home to our busy lives. We’re looking forward to heading back down that way again sometime soon!

On the Road Again

Trip to PA – Day Five

We woke up this morning, feeling pretty tired from the festivities the day before. Alexa stayed over and when Hailey woke up and saw her, she ran right over and sat beside her on the couch. They got on like two little girlfriends, chatting it up about their adventures out on the town. I captured a few shots of their “conversation” and thought it was cute that in the last shot, they both look like they are falling asleep. Hailey’s hand on Alexa’s shoulder just cracks me right up. She definitely made a new good friend in her cousin, Alexa.

Soon, we were packed up and ready to head out toward Indianapolis for a quick visit with some more family. It’s not often that we see all of the Farabaugh family in one long weekend. We stopped by Pop-Pop John’s resting place and then said our goodbyes to Grammy Peggy and uncles Bill and Mike.

Hailey did great on the eight hour drive there. She slept here and there along the way and had some fun with her daddy teasing her. We got to Uncle Terry’s house just in time for her to play a little bit with her cousins, Christin, Mandie and Alissa before going to bed for the night. It’s been quite a busy weekend for the little tot.

Someday somebody’s gonna ask you

Trip to PA – Day Four

Today is Uncle Kenny’s wedding! I had to leave to get my hair done at 8:00 am, so I didn’t get to see Hailey before she woke up. Next time I would see her would be later this evening for the reception. We all had our hair done, including cousin Alexa. She made such a beautiful flower girl!

We decided not to bring Hailey to the ceremony because we weren’t sure how she would react to seeing me and not being able to be near me. The last couple of times Eric brought her into Starbucks to see me, she had a fit that I was behind that counter and not right next to her. Rather than cause a scene at the wedding, Eric stayed behind with her at Grammy Peggy’s house.

The ceremony was lovely and the weather more than cooperated. It reminded me of my own wedding. We had such a gorgeous day for our wedding and love was truly in the air. Hard to believe that was five years ago and now we have this sweet little toddler running around our house. Uncle Kenny and Aunt Sara seemed so happy! We wish them all of the luck and love in the world.

Daddy and Hailey arrived at the convent just in time to pick up me and Alexa for the reception. Hailey looked so adorable in her little spring green dress! She was pretty thrilled that her cousin would be riding with us.

Hailey had a few issues at the beginning of the reception but after dinner, she was having a blast! She took many tours of the reception hall, with mom and dad on her heels, of course. All she really wanted to do was have a little freedom and then she was as high as a kite.

She played peek-a-boo with her cousins underneath the linen on the tables and ran up and down the dance floor.

She didn’t hesitate to get wild and crazy at one point and flash a little white belly at the wedding party table and give out a squeal. She really knows how to party. (I swear she didn’t have any of my champagne!)

A couple of times during the night, she decided to just lay right down in the middle of the dance floor. We all got a pretty good laugh out of that one. Sometimes you just have to wonder what’s going through those little minds of theirs. Wouldn’t it be nice if we adults could do that when we’re all pooped out?

Toward the end of the evening, the wait staff brought the cookies out. Well, if this didn’t make her day, I don’t know what did. Hailey had her pick of an assortment of cookies that Grammy Peggy and her great aunt’s made for the reception. Her favorite ended up being a huge heart shaped cookie with jelly in the middle. She had a grand old time licking out the jelly from the center. I will have a grand old time trying to get that jelly stain off of her dress, too. I would say that she had some pretty big fun at this wedding, wouldn’t you?

Places please, everyone

Trip to PA – Day Three

Waking up at Grammy’s was just like waking up at her own home on any given morning. The Disney channel was on and there was “nilk” and puffs available. Like I said before, she was making herself right at home.

Daddy and Grammy Peggy were able to spend almost the whole day by themselves with Hailey while I was out doing girlie things like getting a manicure and pedicure with the rest of the wedding party.

Tonight was Uncle Kenny’s wedding rehearsal and dinner. Daddy stayed behind with Hailey so Grammy Peggy and I could attend the rehearsal. The festivities began after the rehearsal and everyone came back to the house for dinner.

Hailey was having the ultimate time with her cousins, Alexa, Mindy and Rachel. They were chasing each other around the yard but the highlight of the evening was Grammy’s Cherry Delight and the bubble blowing.
