Hiya, Autumn (Frost)

Last week, we were sweating bullets with temps in the mid-to-high ’90s.  This week?  It’s downright chilly.  Funny how mother nature can make a switch in the seasons, just like that.

I love the chilly.  I’m ready for the chilly.  Not “freezing”, just “chilly”.  Just wanted to clarify that.

Here’s an update to my current obsession with the new Superman movie that’s being filmed in the area.  We all, meaning, the four of us, went back to the set in Plano the same evening last week.  This time, we got in on some celebrity action.  Truthfully, I’m not one to get completely starstruck.  To me, celebrities are just people, not Gods.  I really just wanted to see some action on the set.  That was my whole purpose in going.  I think action movies are cool.  I think movies being filmed near where I live are cool.

Don’t hate, but to be honest, I didn’t even know who Christopher Meloni or Henry Cavill were prior to last week.  We don’t have cable and we aren’t huge movie buffs.  So, I was the one standing around saying, “Who are we waiting for?”  The others waiting outside of the set with us told me who we were waiting for.  “Right.”  I said.  “Ok.”  So, we waited.

That being said, I quickly found out who Christopher Meloni was.  I also got a couple of pictures of him leaving “Smallville”.

Meloni will play Colonel Hardy in Superman – Man of Steel.  The movie is said to be set for a June 13, 2013 release.

Then, Superman himself left the set.  I suppose he looked more like Clark Kent in this shot, minus the glasses.

That’s Henry Cavill (aka: “Clark Kent” aka: “Superman“) in the passenger seat, smiling and waving.  Just smile and wave boys.  Smile and wave.

It was a thrill to have spent some time hanging around the set of what will hopefully be an awesome new Superman movie.  A couple of new acquaintances who make way better “Media Researchers” than me got some great shots of the action in Plano, as well as of Superman himself.  What do you think of the suit?

Um, I like it.

Over the weekend, the “Autumn Frost” crew filmed even closer to me.  I got to see a bus being lowered into a quarry by a crane.  That was about all.  The action was too far in from the road and nowhere to stop and gawk.  Lots of security around the area, too.

The crew has moved on to downtown Chicago.  I may or may not be part of a secret behind the scenes Superman club.  You may or may not see more images of the film being made.  That’s all I can say right now.

This one last image is from yesterday, all that’s left at the quarry in Oswego is the bus and a few people cleaning up.
