I could start by saying how I hate to be cold and how I am so over winter but I wouldn’t entirely be telling you the truth. How easily it rolls off of my tongue that I hate winter.
It’s not true. I don’t hate winter. I don’t hate spring, summer or fall for that matter. It’s true that I’m less thrilled about any given season nearing it’s end but I actually really like all of the seasons and I look forward to each them for many different reasons.
Let’s take winter, for instance. In the fall, I look forward to winter because I like thoughts of snuggling under blankets in my house when it’s cold outside.

When I’m cold inside, I love popping popcorn and sipping hot chocolate.

Then, we hit the middle of winter, which would be right now. What I dislike about this time of winter are the empty nests and the bare branches and the world being nothing but cold and gray.

I need sunshine. I love the sunshine. Thank goodness the sun still shines during the winter. This is when I start to daydream about the beginning of spring and the new life it brings.
Can you count the number of times you say you hate a season? I bet you can find things that you love about the season, if you really sit down and think about it.
For now, stay warm.
I was inspired to write this post and link it up to Beth’s You Capture series.
Also, this morning it was:

Colder than a welldigger’s tushie.
That’s pretty darn cold, Lou!
I like winter too. As long as the electricity stays on I am good.
Oh my goodness, that is way too cold!
I agree – I look forward to each season and it’s not that I hate the one we’re in, I’m just ready for the next one! :-) Fun post – love the popcorn picture!
