First of all, I can’t believe I haven’t been participating in Beth’s You Capture weekly photography theme link-up series. What fun! Since I’m on the old inspiration trip today, I am participating for the very first time. I’m thrilled about last week’s theme: Red.
I love the color red. Love = red. Get it? I decided a while ago that I always want to have something red in my kitchen because of how eye-catching and bold the color is. I haven’t had the guts to paint a kitchen red, yet. However, I love the few different items of red that I keep on display there:

My red dish towel, red teapot and red kitchen timer. Always on display and always making me feel happy. I love the contrast against my white appliances. I recently added a new red item to the mix:

My red vitamin/pill holder. For so long, I would neglect taking my vitamins because they weren’t sitting out where I would remember. Then, I started to take them out of their bottles and leave them on the counter top. Then, I gagged at the thought of a fish oil pill rolling onto the floor and a certain toddler picking it up and taking a bite. Gag. So, when I saw this little red jewelry holder, I bought it with every intention of placing my vitamins in it on a daily basis. Something I would notice because of it’s bold color and something that would prevent my vitamins from ending up in the wrong mouth. So far, it’s working like a charm.
My first You Capture contribution! Yay me!
Thanks to Sabby for bringing this subject up at our meet-up on Saturday.

Thanks for sparking my blog too! It’s been quite a dry spell. I am really hating Chicago winter… Breakfast? Soon? :)
I need to get back to participating in You Capture. It’s like a huge ray of sunshine in this midwest dreary winter.
