Her creative mind

I love it that Hailey is so creative.  On any given day, you can find her assembling some crazy contraption with Teagan’s toys.  You can just tell how vivid things are in her mind.  I love it that she’s able to express that creativity.

Especially with her drawings.  When I’m working at my desk, she often times likes to sit at her desk and work, too.  So, yesterday, we were “working” together  and she asked me to look at something she drew.  It was this:

and then, she drew a close-up of the bird in it’s nest, sitting on it’s eggs:

Later on, she drew the newest thing she observes Teagan doing, standing.  Teagan will crawl over to Hailey’s art desk and pull herself up to standing to see what her big sister is doing (or, to grab everything on the desk within reach).  This is Hailey sitting at her desk with Teagan standing beside it:

I can’t get enough of her creativity.  She also draws when she’s upset or sad.  I’m happy that she uses drawing as an outlet, even if most of her angry drawings are of her parents with big “NO signs” around us (you know, the circle with the line through it?)  The other day, she drew broken hearts.  You guessed it, it broke our hearts.

We told her it was “cute”.  She told us it “wasn’t funny”.

Obviously, I’m the one who’s “yelling” at her.  Look how MEAN I look!  Daddy’s in the background with his hands on his hips and an angry look on his face.  We’re terrible parents.

She never ceases to amaze me, even when she’s broken-hearted and angry.
