Undoubtedly you’ve heard of Real Simple.  Undoubtedly, right?  Well, I hope you have.  I have been a fan of this all-about-making-life-simple publication for years and years and years…and years.  Well, for 10 years.  Since the beginning, really.

Admittedly, I haven’t subscribed to Real Simple for quite some time, pretty much I haven’t subscribed to much of anything for quite some time.  Of course, speaking of subscriptions, you can get 12 issues of Real Simple right now for $10 in honor of their anniversary celebration.  It’s a limited-time offer but an oh-so-good one.

Tonight, I’ll take a jaunt into the city and meet up with some friends and hopefully meet some other fun and fabulous people.

I’m one of the “official” Tweeters for tonight’s Real Simple 10th Anniversary VIP party.  I am so looking forward to getting out.  It’s been a while since I’ve looked forward to doing much of anything.

I’m trying to turn over a tired, old leaf.

I feel kind of empowered, putting on make-up and actually getting dressed to go somewhere.  Especially when my preschooler says things like, “Mommy, you look soooo pretty.  I want to look just like you.“  I can’t deny that I love it when she puts me up so high on a pedestal.  It gives me a reason, you know, a reason to take care of myself…for both of our sakes.  You know what else makes me feel really good?  When she eats the entire peanut butter and jelly sandwich that I made for her.  Now, that’s a good feeling.

So, I can’t wait to share my evening!  I plan on taking a lot of pictures and fully enjoying this fun event.
