Hoppity hop

In our family, we celebrate any particular holiday two, sometimes three times.  We go here, we go there.  Sometimes they come here but mostly, we go there.  That’s ok with us.  We just like our family.  We have family very near and very far and we do our best to see them all.  We think they like to see us, too.

We kicked off our 2010 Easter celebration (and why not celebrate Easter a couple of times?) this past weekend with our annual Easter Egg Hunt.  Hailey knows the drill and Teagan had her first taste of colorful plastic eggs spread throughout the grass.  It was too wet to let her crawl around out there but she did sit and study one orange, plastic egg.  She’ll get the good stuff inside of the egg next Easter.

First thing’s first.  The Easter Bunny.  Well, the Easter Bunny’s helper.  We all know that the Easter Bunny can’t be everywhere.  He has helpers.  Oddly enough, none of them have names.  They all go by the Easter Bunny.  Hailey hopped up on the bunny’s lap and Teagan had her first taste of fake bunny fur outfit.

This year, Easter Bunny’s helper’s furry human legs and sneakers weren’t showing.

Cousin Gabriella joined in the fun, too.  She and Hailey hung out and made some crafty eggs together.

Then, it was time for the hunt.  The kids lined up in their designated sections (by age) and before you could say,

the kids were scrambling (no pun intended) to get as many eggs into their bags, baskets or egg cartons as they could.  Except for Teagan.  She was content just inspecting her one orange, plastic egg.  Nothing else in the world mattered at that moment.

Hailey and Ella, on the other hand, rocked the green field of colorful plastic eggs.

Afterwards, they compared notes on the plan of attack for dominating next year’s Easter Egg Hunt.

Then, we went back to Nana and Grandpa’s house where the real Easter Bunny had visited and left some super awesome goodies for the kids.

It was such a fun, busy morning.  We chilled out by blowing bubbles for Bennie and watching her do all of the work popping them.

I leave you with the magic of the Easter Bunny Tracker.  Well, at least Teagan thinks it’s magical.  Don’t you?

  1. Wonderful write-up on how your day went with the kid’s. Loved the write-up and the pictures to go along with it all.
