Yesterday we had a small get-together to celebrate Hailey’s fourth birthday. In three days, our first will be four. Wow.
Sure, we’ve had our rough times but overall, the past four years have been some of the most enjoyable of our lives. We’ve watched this amazing little girl grow and become more and more independent by the day. She is our little ray of sunshine.
Unless she’s good at hiding it, she has taken the addition to our family so well. She has never even shown an ounce of jealousy toward Teagan. Still, we wanted to gather family around this birthday to show her how much she’s loved.

We surprised her with a “Bolt” themed party. She is absolutely in love with the dog named Bolt from the Disney movie. She was so excited to see the Bolt and friends figurines on her cake and the party hats, cups, napkins and tablecloth. She told everyone as they arrived that she was having a Bolt birthday party. It was pretty cute.

Her favorite part was opening her presents (of course). She got a lot of clothes (which made ME very happy) and some new games and toys (which made HER very happy). She gave all of her gifts (minus the clothes) equal amount of attention today. Although I will say, she’s pretty thrilled with her new Bolt Nintendo DS game. What can we say? We know our little girl so well.
We have a few more days of celebrating, as her actual birthday isn’t until this Thursday. We’ll probably have a birthday lunch somewhere and paint our pumpkins that night. She’s been asking to paint them for days now but I’ve been trying to hold off until closer to this weekend, when she’ll be dressed up for the little local trick-or-treating even for kids. I still don’t have a costume for Teagan! I just can’t make up my mind. Obviously, she’ll be cute in any costume but you know how that goes…

Aw Happy birthday to her!
