Amazing little things

It seems like the weather instantly changed from Summer to Fall or maybe it’s that we really didn’t have a Summer at all.  As I drive down the streets now, leaves are changing and falling all around.  I love the very beginning of Fall.  It’s the crispness in the air and you can feel the wind change from warm to cool.  This is the comfortable sleeping weather, where you just don’t want to get out of bed.  At least I don’t want to get out of bed.

I love taking Teagan outside and letting her breathe in the fresh air.  She’s still not sure how to react to wind.  When the breeze blows past her, she gasps and blinks fast because she’s not expecting it.  The new things are so amazing.  I tell her about the wind so she can try to understand it.  These are the things that you quickly forget about infants.  These are the amazing little things that I will miss but not miss enough to convince me to have another baby.  ;)

Eric took one of his coworkers to the hospital yesterday because she was having pain.  Pain caused by a sprained ankle and blood clots that formed because of it.  This is something all too familiar and scary.  His coworker ended up having surgery due to more blood clots forming.  Yesterday, I told Hailey about Eric taking his coworker to the hospital.  This morning, she heard me ask him to let me know how the coworker is doing.  She looked up at her daddy and said, “Did you save her?”  Sometimes she says the most amazing, appropriately timed things.

We’re finally settling in.  Teagan is discovering that there is a world around her and we’re enjoying the new smiles and noises she makes.  Hailey is really enjoying preschool/daycare.  It feels good that all is well in our world at the moment.
