The things she’ll do for a treat

This morning, we were in the bug’s room getting her dressed after her bath. I pulled out her tie-dyed shirt that she made at daycare, because it’s red, white and blue. I said, “This is a good shirt for today since it’s Labor Day”. In her usual Hailey fashion, she said, “Labor Day? What’s Labor Day?” I told her that it has to do with the country we live in, the United States of America. She repeated, “The United States? I know the United States”. THEN, she proceeded to recite the Pledge of Allegiance, hand over heart and all. I was in awe. I had NO IDEA that she knew it! She told me she learned it at school. I guess school is paying off after all.

I got her to recite it for me a second time over the phone for her daddy and a third on video…for a treat, of course.  Here is our proud parenting moment:

  2. That is so cute! It is a good thing that you got that on video….I hope that treat was super sugary! xoxo
