A beautiful Chicago wedding

My sister-in-law got married this weekend and now Hailey has an “official” Uncle Tim.  The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for the wedding.  Friday night, we attended Emily and Tim’s rehearsal dinner at Jake Melnick’s Corner Tap on Superior St.  We had our own party room and it was pretty cozy with all of the friends and relatives in attendance.

Emily presented all of her bridesmaids with gifts and surprised Hailey, her flower girl, with a flower girl outfit for her new American Girl doll.  She also gave her this beautiful little gold bracelet that has ladybug charms on it.

We were back and forth from the suburbs to the city all weekend.  So, Saturday morning, we drove back downtown for the wedding festivities.  Hailey and I met the other ladies in the wedding party at Hotel Sax to get ready for Emily’s big day.  Hailey practically busted through the door to the bride’s suite and started dancing around.  She was so excited to see her family again!  We all had our hair done and got our beautiful dresses on.

Hailey looked incredibly adorable in her flower girl dress, with flowers in her hair.  She was mostly thrilled that her cousins, Mary Kate and Olivia were there with her and that they were all dressed up too.

We hopped on the Windy City Trolley and headed over to Millennium Park for pictures.  My sister-in-law just looked so stunning.  All eyes were on her as we posed for pictures.  There are so many random people out there that have pictures of her and Tim, I’m sure.  Everyone and their brother were snapping shots.

Their wedding ceremony and reception took place at Fulton’s on the River…a super cool place for weddings, hands-down.  I was an emotional mess during the ceremony, of course.  I have to say, their ceremony was my absolute favorite.  It was very intimate and fit the couple perfectly.  After the ceremony, we went downstairs for cocktails and the reception.  It was so convenient that everything took place in the same building.  Here are a couple of new family shots from the wedding:

We all had such a good time at the wedding and reception!  We drove back into the city today and had brunch with the family and then met up over at the newlywed’s condo while they opened their gifts.  Hailey really took to her Uncle Kurt this weekend.  She wanted to hang out with him all of the time.  They sat in the backseat of the car together and sang songs and had conversations during each drive back and forth.

She also got to hang out a bit with her Godfather (and cousin) Michael.  He surprised her with an outfit for her American Girl doll.  Of course, she was thrilled.

At Auntie Em and Uncle Tim’s, she wore Auntie Em’s veil for a little bit.  I’m glad that it will be a loooong time before she’s actually wearing a veil of her own!

A big congratulations goes out to Em and Tim.  We’re so, so happy for you both!
