I had a lovely Mother’s Day this year. I woke up to my favorite people, Eric and Hailey and baby girl in the womb. Really, what more could I ask for?
Well, I know they knew I had a rough day yesterday. I had to sit in a lab for 4 hours and had blood drawn every hour. I didn’t pass my first diabetes screening last week so I had to take the more in-depth screening. I had to eat a specific amount of carbohydrates for three days prior to the screening and had to fast the night before. Not an easy task for a pregnant woman who is hungry anytime of the day or night.
I came home to a beautiful bouquet mix of colorful flowers. When you don’t receive flowers all that often, it can really brighten your day…at least, it really works for me.

I had to include my roses in this collage. I am on the Yahoo! Motherboard and the two fabulous ladies who run the program sent all of the participants roses as a “Thank You” and “Happy Mother’s Day”. Pretty sweet, if I do say so myself.
I have to say, though, that my most favorite flower isn’t pictured above. She’s this one, right here:

She and her daddy also surprised me with an iPod alarm clock, which is something that I have wanted for a while. It was a very nice surprise indeed!
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas out there!
