Celebrating a sacrament

We took a quick weekend trip down to Indianapolis for my niece’s (and Goddaughter’s) 1st Communion.  It was an absolutely gorgeous weekend in Indy, while it rained and rained here in the Chicago area.

Hailey immediately attached herself at the hip to her cousin and we became chopped liver.  We’re used to it and as long as she’s happy and entertained, we’re down with it.

Here is me and my sweet, beautiful niece and Goddaughter, Alissa:

Alissa’s 1st Communion service was really nice.  There were 86 kids total!  Luckily, it wasn’t too warm in the church and we all survived.

Christin, the oldest, just graduated from high school and this happened to be her prom night and Mandie just celebrated her birthday.  I loved seeing all of my gorgeous nieces all dressed up.  Here they are with Hailey:

Of course, it was extremely difficult to say goodbye, especially for Hailey.  She absolutely hates goodbyes.  We tried to tell her that she would see her “friend” and cousin again this summer after her baby sister is born.

Finally, Eric took this picture of Hailey and I with his iPhone and I just love it:
