I just haven’t felt like blogging! It’s only appropriate to start off this post that way because every time I open my laptop, if it isn’t for logging into work; I cringe, shake my head and say to myself, “I just don’t feel like it“. That’s just kind of what happened since I’ve been fighting this disgusting cold all week long and devoting my time to the 3-1/2 year old (and I still say to myself, “Wow. Three and a half. Really?”) But then again, I know how it makes me feel to fall behind in posting. Yes, fall behind. Because when you consider yourself a “blogger”, you “fall behind” and it’s not such a good feeling. At least not to me.
So, Easter was last weekend. I thought a lot about the Easter we didn’t have when Hailey was 6 months old and hospitalized for her illness and seizures. Well, it was still Easter, just a different kind of Easter for us. Anyway, it’s hard to believe that was so long ago and I’m happy to say that we have one very happy, healthy preschooler.
This Easter was nice. We kicked off the Easter weekend with an Easter Egg Hunt over at Grandpa and Nana’s subdivision. As long as we’re around these parts, this will be the annual tradition.
There are activities for the kids inside of the clubhouse and snacks…ohhhh the snacks. Hailey colored and got an Easter Bunny tattoo. She posed for a picture with Pete and we read a couple of books before heading outside to check out “Red” the fire truck.

The Easter Egg hunt began and the kids flocked into the field to collect the eggs.

We spent the rest of the day at Nana and Grandpa’s house to celebrate Easter and Grandpa’s birthday.

hailey looks like SUCH a big girl! it’s like she turned in to a little girl all of a sudden. i’m coming to naperville next easter. looks fun!!!
I remember that first Easter in the hospital. She was so little, they had to put a splint on her arm for the IV. Poor little munchkin.
Hailey look’s like she had a good time. All smiles!!! Couldn’t see the numbers on Grampa George’s candles. What age did they say? lol Anyway tell George I said Happy Birthday belated.
It sounds like you had a wonderful Easter. Your daughter is a beauty…and so stylish too (I love the skirt-over-pants look!).
P.S. How do you manage to keep her hair looking so neat?
Stephanie – honestly, it really only ever looks this way on “bath” day. I have to put conditioner in it and she lets me brush and lightly blow dry it now. Otherwise, it’s a crazy, unruly mess.
