The blog world is all a-buzz this week with BlogHer attendees reminiscing about their time spent in San Francisco at the BlogHer Conference.
Well. Ya’ll ain’t gonna find nuthin’ diff’rnt here.
BH ’07 was so much fun but this year was different. Not different bad, just different. My focus this year was geared more toward meeting people rather than attending the actual conference sessions. I attended all of two sessions the entire weekend. There just wasn’t enough time and there were just so many faces to see. Each day I spent in the Bay area was pretty much booked solid and I left San Francisco feeling like a zombie. Lack of sleep played a big part in that. I’m not complaining…noooo. I had the best time!
First of all, getting away for the weekend on an (mostly) all women retreat was inspiring! I started off the weekend on a four hour flight from Chicago to San Francisco with MJ from I Want a Little Sugar in my Bowl. I’ve known MJ for over a year now and it’s always a treat to get to spend time with her, since we live uber far away from each other (approx. 35-40 mi.). Well, a little “chatting” turned into a huge brainstorming session for the ENTIRE FLIGHT! I kept thinking how annoyed the woman in our row must be with us.
We arrived in San Francisco with our brains swimming and then attempting to go and find our luggage. After walking back and forth around baggage claim several times and finally claiming our luggage, we grabbed a bite to eat (it was MJ’s birthday so I treated her to a little sugar in a her bowl).
After lunch, we hitched a ride with Bart to downtown San Fran. Somewhere along the way, we’re getting text messages from Arianne and Steph – something about celery and room service and $25. We decided that we couldn’t let this poor pregnant woman go on ordering stalks of celery all weekend long at $25 bucks a pop. So, we perused the mall after Bart dropped us off and found Steph a nice big, green stalk of celery.
We were definitely two confused Midwesterners between the mall and the hotel – stopping several times to compare services and check Google Maps from our cell phones (the iPhone beat the BlackBerry Curve – D’oh!)
Back tomorrow with more…

Amy — you are the best girl to ever fly with! I am so excited and inspired after that brainstorming session!
Thanks for that pic…good times!
