I just got home last night from my week-long training for my new job with GreatAupair.com. Eric and I have been sitting around looking at photos from my trip to BlogHer and Albuquerque when we started perusing Twitter a bit. Guy Kawasaki “Tweeted” the URL to this NY Times post about BlogHer. I just read through it and realized that I was quoted. Ha! I remember the exact moment this took place and I had no idea that Kristen Dimont, Mod*Mom, was speaking to a journalist for the NY Times. Basically, what you read here (taken from the NY Times) is exactly what was said:
“I’m kind of famous,” said Kristen Dimont, whose design and parenting blog is called Mod Mom, during a break between panels on the first morning.
As if on cue, she was stopped by a woman toting a swag bag, who revealed herself as a blogger for Mums the Wurd, a product blog for parents. “You’re Mod Mom,” the admirer said. “I’ve been following you forever.”
I was that woman, toting the swag bag, revealing myself as Amy from MumsTheWurd. I was walking down the stairs from the second floor to the Mezzanine to a session at BlogHer last weekend when I saw Kristen in passing. Without thinking, I grabbed her and said exactly what you see above. Now, I didn’t catch what she was saying before I stopped her but I kind of figured it out after she responded, “See?” to the woman regarding my comment. I guess you just never know when the media will be hanging around and catch you stalking one of your favorite bloggers.
Ahhh, that’s alright…I love you, Kristen! You are still totally my fav and it was fantastic hanging out with you at Macy’s. =)

you are so funny amy! it was great hanging with you + mj
that was a big coincidence you saw my name tag + said hi right when i was talking to her! i thought i told her my blog is kinda famous. i was getting carried away. i am normally very private + overly protective of my identity, but it was the 3rd day of blogher, since the parties started the night before, i was so relaxed + having a great time meeting fellow bloggers + readers of my blog, + saying who i was in person, but i’m still too protective to show my picture on my blog. i like to be anonymous to protect my daughter.
Oh that is too funny! Awesome!
