To be honest, I stopped reading Dooce.com a while back. I have a hard enough time keeping up with my friend’s blogs let alone reading the rants of someone I do not know. Forget commenting over there either…unless you want to get lost in the mix of the thousands of comments she receives on her posts.
There’s a “but”…
I clicked over to Heather’s site tonight, basically just to check her Google PageRank because I’m sort of all about PageRankings right now. Don’t ask. I read the post that she wrote (click the link above) and I sort of fell in love with her all over again. That’s ok to say, right? I don’t really love-love her. I mean, I’m not obsessed or anything. How about this, I relate to her all over again. Better?
Heather, aka “Dooce” has got a fabulous blog and she’s a fantastic writer and takes some pretty damn good photographs. You can see now why I am raving about her right? The woman makes her living writing an online journal, aka, “blogging”. She is very real in her writing and that’s what I like so much about her what what keeps me checking back every now and again.
Heather’s most recent monthly newsletter to her daughter may have sucked me right back in because she painted the picture so well of what our children, the children of the “blogging” generation, might think of us. She is very well aware that she is putting herself and her family out there for the world to dissect. Though most of the time she seems to have very thick skin in dealing with it all, I think you can tell that it gets to her, as it should. She’s human. Not any amount of money in the world can turn off emotions when you’re a passionate parent and writer. She just happened to get in to the parent-blogging world when the getting was good and now parents turn to her for their daily laugh, inspiration and even next blog post. Dooce is now a common name around the water cooler.
I’m very much looking forward to hearing her speak at the BlogHer conference in San Francisco this year. Who knows, I may even have a chance to shake her hand. I’ll never wash that hand again! You know I’m kidding, right?
I’m pretty sure I read that she will be appearing on the Today Show tomorrow morning. Jill Asher, friend and co-founder of the Silicon Valley Mom’s Group will also be appearing on a segment of the show tomorrow, as well. If I had a Tivo, I would record it. If I miss it, I’ll just have to rely on the water cooler gossip.

I know how you feel about her…she’s all “dooce” and all…I do hope to watch her and Hoda on the today show later this morning…
