A person is a person, no matter how small

We woke up to a lovely, sunny Sunday in the burbs today. In fact, this is the first morning in a long time where I actually felt like I had some energy to get out and do something. So, the little fam and I decided to go for a walk and do some park-hopping.

One of the first things that I did was give my gorgeous girl a flower:

We arrived at our first destination, park number one, and I did something I generally don’t do…ran around the park and climbed through the playground gym with Hailey! Seriously, I haven’t seen this kind of energy in a while. The bug was delighted.

Capturing photos like this one really makes my day!

It made me feel like a bad parent but she really wanted to pull the wagon herself! I suppose it would have looked worse had either the hubs or I copped a squat in it while she was pulling. These days, she’s into pushing the stroller and shopping carts, too:

Of course, we believe that there are tiny specs on all flowers now, so we did our best to protect the Who’s in Whoville this morning.

And FINALLY, my flowering crab tree has flowered! This is one of those things in life that I always look forward too. It’s almost like my own personal beginning of the Spring season…when the purple flowers my tree bloom:

After we got inside, I felt inspired to feed my family. Not that I never feed them…I was just particularly in the mood to cook a little this morning. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I’m not a food blogger but sometimes it’s fun to take pictures of the things you eat. So I made these things and took pictures of them:

and these…

…and some real bacon! (are you jealous, Tim?)

I made myself one of these…and yes, it was really, really good!

*More pics from our Sunday morning walk HERE. You won’t be able to see all of them unless you’re a Flickr member and a contact of mine marked as “friend or family”, so let me know and I’ll send you an invitation!
