…Blogging about things you’ve done and places you’ve been after three days of the actual event are “ancient” (at least that’s how it feels to me). Of course, that’s not how I feel when I’m off reading others blogs. Eh, what can ya do?
Anyway, I’ve been wanting to share my opinion the Johnson’s Camp Baby event. Overall, I really enjoyed meeting some new bloggers and putting “blogs” to “faces”. The content of the sessions were pretty basic. I don’t think there was a real purpose for some of the sessions that we attended; like the braiding and the “what’s going on down there” sessions. We all got a kick out of those! They definitely provided a “bonding” experience between most of us in attendance.
I do not think negatively of Johnson and Johnson for setting up the event the way they did, if anything, it has giving us all something to talk about. Although, for future-related events, I’d like to see more discussion around the blogging world and what J&J is doing to fit in. That is initially what my thoughts were going into this. In my opinion, we could have spent a little more time being educated on all of the products that J&J offers. I was unaware (or just hadn’t paid much attention) that they are the parent company for many products (i.e. Splenda, Purell, KY). I would have liked to have been educated on any new products that Johnson’s is developing and would have loved to have had the chance to provide my feedback on those things.
The highlights of the three days were, again, making some new friends and further expanding my networking. It was a thrill to meet in person those who I follow on the screen on a regular basis and also meeting new people to follow on screen. I spent the entire time with a smile on my face and having some good laughs with some great new friends.
Now, here are some highlights in pictures…hopefully this won’t get too lengthy because I am on a lunch-break and time is ticking…
…the goodies. We came away from the event with a load of J&J products from the product expo they held for us on the last day. A couple of people even won trips to the Olympics! When we checked into our rooms, there was a gift bag of Neutrogena products waiting for us. We were even surprised with Nintendo DS Lites. I’ll talk more about that later…
…the wine reception with Ted Allen. He was fun! Bummed I didn’t get my usual “groupie” picture with him at the end but he had to run out (or wasn’t paid for) at the end.
…the braiding session. I didn’t participate in the braiding but sure had fun watching other people do it. Instead, I spent my time Twittering about braiding and scary mannequin heads. I don’t know who’s more frightening in this pictures…me or Teah with her name tattooed on her neck.
…Skype video chatting with the bug and the hubs. THAT was definitely a highlight while I was away.
Wii Bowling…I bowled a 165…or was it a 156? At any rate, it was fun!
Reuniting with my mom friends, who also blog at my favorite collective mom blog sites!
Ok, that’s all I have time for now. You can view the rest of my J&J event photos at my Flickr site. New York City and Katie Couric are up next – but that is a whole new blog post. :)

I still enjoy reading these recaps, now matter how long ago it was! And I can’t wait to create some moments of our own this weekend! Nerves starting to get me !Steph
I like reading the re-caps, too! That pic with you and Teah cracks me up. Looks like you became fast friends.
I know exactly what you mean about it seeming “old and stale” after just a couple of days, but I’ve been wanting to hear your thoughts.I agree about the sessions. I couldn’t attend, but seeing how most of the time was going to be spent (in those sessions), I wasn’t too bummed about missing out. I too would have been much more interested in hearing more about the company, products, etc. I think that they wanted to make it value-added for moms, but especially for me (whose youngest child is almost 4), that wouldn’t have been too useful. Thanks for posting!
looks like you had loads of fun, and I loved the recap, thanks!
