This is an up-to-date yet also a Throwback Thursday post. I MUST spill the beans about what is going-on in my life these days. I see that people are starting to talk around the blogosphere about these “events”, so I figure I might as well too!

First, check out these pictures I took at Disney World back in 1996:

I was invited to go along with my best friend and her family. It was the first time I had ever flown and the first time I had been to Florida. When we arrived at Walt Disney World and walked through the streets toward the castle, I felt like I was in an alternate universe. I really had never imagined being there but as we closed in on the doors to the park, this euphoric feeling came over me. The sky was so blue and there was music pouring out above us as we walked down the street. I finally knew what all of the fuss was about. There was only one disappointment, I had no idea the castle was just an archway. Can you even go up inside of it? I had higher expectations about that castle.

I met Eeyore:

Check out my sweet grown-out perm and my grungy flannel button-down. Eric just pointed out that I had some pretty awesome short-shorts too. They weren’t that short. I didn’t “do” short-shorts back in those days.

We went to Epcot:

This park was so amazing! This was one of my favorite places to visit during our trip. We also went to MGM. I remember the Muppets 3D show and I rode the Tower of Terror. That was so cool.

I love thinking about that trip. I have wanted to return to the Magic Kingdom for SO LONG. Now that we have the bug, we are planning on going in a couple of years or so. I can’t wait to see her face when we walk down that street toward the castle. I know just how she’ll feel.

Now that I’ve just revisited my Disney vacation, I’m even MORE excited because, I’VE BEEN INVITED BACK TO DISNEY WORLD! Because I’m a “mom blogger”. Because I put myself out there. Because I’m “influential”. And you know what? I LOVE IT! I work so hard on my blogs. I’m always out there, networking, meeting new people in the blogosphere and it’s nice to have been recognized for that. I am so appreciative of the people that think I am worthy of this exciting event that I could just kiss them! On the cheek, of course. I’m doubly thrilled that my friend/fellow mom blogger/CMB contributor, Steph is also going! We are so going to rock the Disney.

We will attend a welcoming ceremony and stay at a pretty fantastic resort. We will get to experience all things Disney and I still have to pinch myself to make sure I’m not dreaming this up! All of this is happening in the midst of me starting a new job and taking another mom blogger-related trip (more on that soon).

Unfortunately, the hubs and the bugs of the mom bloggers have not been extended invites. But you know what? That’s ok. It’s some nice “needed” time away. It’s a time to connect with my sisters and get a quick look at all that Disney has to offer us and our families. I just couldn’t be happier. You bet I’ll be reporting about my trip here – probably minute-by-minute – while I’m there. I’m all about the tech, baby.

So until this trip happens, expect me to talk about it…probably almost non-stop. I want to have the entire park and surrounding areas all completely mapped out before my plane hits that runway in Orlando.

Disney, here I come!
