American Idol: The Top 10 Boys

Ai*Alright, ya’ll know that I’m the spoiler if you’ve set your DVRs and Tivos to catch the show later on.  Do not read further to hear all about tonight’s American Idol show.

Amy M. here, live blogging from my couch while watching American Idol.  Seriously though, to the producers of Amercan Idol, I could totally live blog for you FROM American Idol.  I’m available asap.  Call me.  We’ll talk.

Without further ado, here is my play-by-play opinion on tonight’s Top 10 Boy Contestants:

Michael Johns – I like the song but wasn’t that impressed with his vocals.  Did you see the one eyebrow lift at Simon?  Cute.  I agreed with Simon, weak song choice for Michael.

Jason Castro -  I heart Jason.  I am a total sucker for the acoustic guitar, just ask my husband.  I really dig Jason’s voice and I think the fact that he can play an instrument is a huge plus.  Can someone tell me in what context Simon meant “schmutzy“?  Did he really think Jason sounded dirty or grimy?

Luke Menard -  I think this was a fun song for Luke to sing.  Sounded a bit like Freddy Mercury too (Randy would smack me for saying that).  I have to agree with my husband on this one…it sounded a bit theatrical but I like Luke and I hope he goes far in the competition.  Wow, Randy thought it was theatrical too.  I love calling it before the judges do.

Robbie Carrico – Tonight is getting worse and worse for the guys.  Maybe it’s the band?  I don’t know.  This is just boring so far.  Of course Simon had to play the devil’s advocate and say he liked Robbie.

Danny Noriega – Blah, blah, blah.  Did he not look like a female in those old punk rock pictures???  He’s doing a good job singing this song but it’s just so booooring.

David Hernandez – David is doing great tonight.  He still seems nervous though.  Is it the “in” thing to do…to wear a hoodie under a suit or sport jacket?  Sort of looking caj’ (that’s short for “casual”) yet hip and stylish?  I missed the memo on that one.

Jason Yeager – I’m not thrilled with his song but he’s totally rockin’ it.  I’m not surprised the judges didn’t like him.  Everyone seems so bored tonight and unimpressed.

Chikezie – Blech.  Man, I’m really judgmental tonight too.   Maybe I’m just not that into 70s music.  I love the banter between Chikezie and Simon.  I’m glad that the judges liked him.  I suppose he was one of the better performances tonight.

David Cook – Word nerd.  Love it.  You know I’m all about the wUrd.  I like David, he’s been one of my favorites since the auditions.  I have a thing for the rocker dudes.  He’s bringin’ it, so now I think he may be getting my vote this week.  Simon thinks that David is boring because he does crossword puzzles.  Them are fightin’ words!  The contestants are fighting back this season, grrrrowl!

David Archuleta – DAWG.  HANDS DOWN, BEST PERFORMANCE OF THE EVENING.  They saved the best for last.  Nuff said.  He’s going all the way this season.  He’s so damn cute, I can’t take it.  I voted twice and I NEVER do that.  :)

My picks for bottom two boys this week are Jason Yeager and Robbie Carrico.
