Hey, weren’t they the Top 12 “Women” last night? At any rate, the girls have made their mark on tonight’s show and the voting lines are open. I wasn’t extremely thrilled with any particular contestant’s performance this evening. I hope they all bring it in their upcoming performances.
Tonight, my favorites were:
Syesha Mercado. Girl got lungs, yo. She’ll be here until the very end, just you watch. Ramiele Malubay because she’s fabulous, musically and fashionably. What?! I can’t help it. I’m always looking out for fashionistas. I can’t wait to hear more of Ramiele! Alaina Whitaker because I think she has a very pretty voice. She brought some sass too, which I liked. I really like Joanne Borgella. First of all, she sang a song from one of my favorite movies. I really like her voice and I think she’ll go far in the competition, despite what Randy and Simon think.
My runner-up favs were Kady Malloy because she’s got an incredible voice and I think she’ll shine when she picks a song with more energy. Her Britney impersonations were hilarious! Alexandrea Lushington because I think she’s going to be fun to listen to and watch throughout the competition. She’s a total entertainer. Asia’h Epperson’s story just broke my heart right in half. This girl has determination. I kind of wish that she wouldn’t have sang a Janice Joplin song. I would have assumed that Simon thought her performance sounded like karaoke but surprisingly, he didn’t. You just never can tell with him. Amy Davis could have done much better but she was obviously nervous. I’m borderline with Brooke White. I think I need more time with her.
The last three are my least favorites. Amanda Overmyer. Uck. Trashy is the word that comes to mind. I don’t see her making it very far. A big disappointment was Kristy Lee Cook. I adored her during the auditions. She was pretty boring tonight. It’s a bummer that she was sick. I’m sure she’ll be around for a while though. Lastly, Carly Smithson. She’s just not my cup of tea. I know she has a great voice but I’m just not sure how much I really like her.
Hopefully you voted. I voted for Ramiele. It was harder for me to rate the girls tonight than it was for the guys last night. I think they were easier to pick apart. I think it’s likely that Alexandrea, Amy and possibly Asia’h will be at the bottom tomorrow night and two of those three will be heading home. Your thoughts?
