The bug is sick. It came on pretty quickly yesterday afternoon. She did wake up sort of warm yesterday, so I had a feeling sickness was coming. Anyway, last night was bad. She had a temp right around 103. We brought her to bed with us and begged and pleaded with her to take her “buggul-gums”, otherwise known as Ibuprofen. She fought back until we were able to talk her into it with a cup of M&M’s. Yes, M&M’s at 1:00 am. We rock as parents.
I just got off the phone with the doctor’s office and they think it may be Croup and I’m thinking, really? I also found out that her Pediatrician is out of the office for 6 months and then she’s only coming back part-time. Fabulous. We’re going to a new doctor at a new location later today.
As if I wasn’t worried enough, now I have to sit here all day and worry that she’s going to start barking uncontrollably.
Blech. Blech. Blech.
Funny. She just looked back at me and said, “I’m hungry”. She’s never told me that before. I suppose an appetite is a good sign?

I hope she feels better soon. My daughter’s teacher just emailed me to tell me that she is coughing like crazy and did I want to come get her. I am so over this winter thing! And just so you don’t feel bad about the M&M thing, I gave my son M&M’s for breakfast this morning. One time won’t kill anyone, right?
I hope she feels better. Poor thing. I have a close friend who is a Ped. If you are interested, I can give you his name. He is awesome!!!
Hey, if M&M’s work, they work! It’s so weird to me that the ped would say it might be croup. Croup isn’t acutally a disease, it’s more like a descriptive term.Kinda like the time Violet got a fever and then a rash, and they diagnosed it as “a viral rash”. NO KIDDING? Thanks.I’m sorry the bug is sick though.Any word on the job?
Awww… poor baby! And you know, a “bad” parent wouldn’t have thought of the M&M’s. They would have thought that candy is BAD and blah blah blah. You just knew that the medicine was more important than breaking any “rules” of sugar distribution. Good job.
Good idea, the M & M’s that is. The problem at my house is that I would have eaten them all up already:(Hopefully your little bug is back to herself soon!
aaaah! i hope she’s better! it sucks to see our kiddos sick.(sometimes we have ice cream for supper b/c mamma doesn’t feel like cooking.)
Thanks for the well wishes. I remember now that February is usually the month that we all get sick and I start freaking out about winter. Yep, it’s all coming back to me now…
