It’s no secret that we are big, ok HUGE fans of Elizabeth (Liz) Mitchell. Remember my post from over the summer when we took Hailey to see Liz and Dan at Chicago’s Ravinia? When I think of how Liz sang “LadyBug Picnic” at the autograph table specifically to Hailey, it just makes me smile from ear to ear.
Liz and her husband, Dan Littleton (who also make up the beautiful indie duo, “Ida“), along with their 6 1/2 year old daughter Storey appeared on The Bryant Park Project on NPR today.

You can listen to the show HERE. You’ll hear them perform “See the Stars” off of their seventh full-length release, Lovers Prayers (release date: January 29, 2008 – tomorrow!) and “Green Green Rocky Road” with Storey, which was recorded for their next children’s album. Their harmonies are purely angelic and I seriously get the chills when I listen to this song:

You can also hear some more Elizabeth Mitchell HERE.
The new album is just gorgeous. I highly recommend picking up a copy of it tomorrow. They don’t have any tour dates scheduled right now, except for one NYC show this coming June. Their hopes are to get out for a tour across the country this summer. We’re crossing our fingers they come through Chicago again!
PS: Hailey’s Grandma Peggy had surgery on her shoulder today. We spoke to her on the phone and she’s drowsy but doing very well. We’re praying for a speedy recovery and we love you!!!

I’ll give it a listen – thanks! And…great new blog, looks fantastic. :) I’ve always kept my kid stories and my own thoughts on the same blog – like you said, you can only have so many. But also, I didn’t want to overly segment my life…everything seems to overlap naturally. But I wonder if my readers think I’m a bit nuts at times, the way I switch topics so fast. :)
Hey, thanks for stopping by my blog! Roscoe and Bailey are our dogs-in-law and they are about 5 and 2 respectively. They are the goofiest-looking dogs I think, when they do people-stuff. My m.i.l. had Bailey riding around in the front seat of her truck wearing a winter vest, buckled in and all. Must have been a sight!
