I have a show. That’s right. It’s mommy’s show, otherwise known as “American Idol”. Yes, I try to watch the season from start to finish. I might actually make it through the auditions this time, usually I can only make it through an episode or two before it bores me out of my mind and I tune out before the top 12.

Now that the bug is staying up a little bit later at night, she has to deal with us turning off her shows. Her shows basically consist of Little Einsteins and well, Little Einsteins. She’s super obsessed with “the team” these days. Of course, I don’t help matters when I go out and buy her each member of the team (aka: Annie, June, Quincy, Leo and Rocket) from the Disney Store or all of the DVD’s that are available. Everyday, all day, it’s, “We watch Lil’ Ointh-stoinths?” Don’t ask me where she gets her accent. Anyway, it’s hard to resist that innocent, little voice and those huge eyes. However, generally when 7:00 pm rolls around, I’m looking for something not-so-animated and sing-songy to watch. It’s bad enough that I walk around all day singing, “We’re on our way, the mission of the day starts when we say rocket…ROCKET!” She protested for the first couple of shows but now, she’s gladly sitting with me and watching America embarrass itself.

The other night, the bug was water painting at the table with her daddy while I was watching Idol. Of course, they don’t showcase many of the good singers during the auditions and when one bad audition came on, she yells from the dining room, “Mommy, I don’t like that person!” I couldn’t have agreed with her more. I think my little bug may have a knack for talent searching. This picture shows one of her reactions to a bad audition.
