Before I summarize this past week’s potty training adventures, I have to ask, did anyone notice my misspelling of “Adventures” in last week’s graphic? Because I just did right now. Boy do I feel dumb. It’s not something that a spell checker would have picked up because I did it in Photoshop. That’s the kicker though, there aren’t that many words on the graphic and it’s the main GRAPHIC! Anyway, glad I got that off of my chest. This is a new and more current graphic so I can assure you that I have triple-checked my spelling on this one.
This week started off slow. She was rushed to the potty on Monday to finish off a BM and since I was pretty low on energy for the rest of the week, I really didn’t push the potty issue that much. We sat and read, of course but kind of randomly throughout the days
Tonight, however, we had a successful attempt on the potty! Our friend, Aunt Joanne was visiting and I had Hailey on the potty before bedtime. We were sitting by her reading some books when she looked at me and said, “I…(pause)…(curious look on her face)…did it? I didn’t even have to look to know that she did because her expression and the question in her voice said it all. She stood up, we saw pee and then we all celebrated! It was truly history in the making. To think that I thought this week was a wash. She really proved me wrong.
We also added some more reading material to our collection this week:

And of course, this one which everyone should have in their bathrooms anyway:

Uncle Kurt and Aunt Kelly bought this for Hailey last year and now it’s being put to good use.
As I was searching for potty book images, I came across this one, which I thought was pretty cute:

The cats are next on the list…

good girl Hailey!! Keep up the good work. Grammy’s proud of you.
Great Job Hailey! Could you talk to Emma about the potty … she is on my grrr list right now!
Good job, Hailey! We have started with Gillian, also. She usually goes a few times a day on the potty. She tells us…”Potty?”…Which means… I have to go to the potty. I am not getting too excited though. She is still just 20 mo. She may decide to go on “potty” strike next week, tomorrow, or in five minutes…Nat
that is AWESOME!!! great news!!! and wouldn’t that be SO COOL if we could train the kitties to use the toiley too!? i mean, i hear it’s possible… then no more litter box! what a funny, no, HILARIOUS site that would be… (if you do it, take thorough notes so i can use them for my furballs.)
Ohh, I am feeling for you on this. The laundry. The frantic rush to the bathroom when you think it might be time. Thinking about pee ALL DAY LONG! Good luck to you.
