Happy belated Halloween

Just can’t find enough time in the day anymore to get posts up in a decent matter of time. So here we are, days after Halloween and my 30th birthday and I’m FINALLY posting about our day!

We didn’t do much in the morning because we had to wait for a new refrigerator to be delivered. We’ve been living in appliance “hell” the last couple of weeks. We finally replaced our broken over-the-range microwave that conked out right before Hailey was born two years ago. Our refrigerator which had previously been “jumping” off of the ground whenever the compressor would stop finally started to just idle like a motorcycle and it would have cost the same to repair it as to purchase a new one, so that’s what we did. Our washer also quit working in the past week. Oh, the stereo in the Santa Fe all of the sudden died after being stuck on a radio station that was playing “Monster Mash” on Halloween night. Seriously, cut us a break, appliance Gods! We were able to have the washer fixed and Eric, my electronics man, fixed the car stereo.

Anyway, we were able to rush out of the house after the new refrigerator was delivered to catch some lunch with Kerry and some other friends. The kids looked adorable!

Hailey wasn’t interested in having whiskers or a nose drawn on this time but she was still the most adorable pink and black leopard around.

When we got back home, we did our pumpkin picture. The one that our friends at Once Upon a Dream introduced us to. So amazing to see how much Hailey has grown in a year.

I figured I would keep the tradition going of painting on the next letter of her name but my “A” really sucked this year. I guess I just wasn’t feeling it. : ) Oh well, there is always Photoshop.

We hung out the rest of the day until Eric got home from work when we were going to head out to dinner, since we usually do that on our birthdays. None of us were really up for it so we decided to order Thai, drink champagne and carve our pumpkins instead.

Hailey really didn’t want much to do with carving them, so she just went back inside and watched It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown on t.v.

She popped out onto the balcony every so often to express her disgust in pumpkin innards. She didn’t want anywhere near them (you can hear that first-hand in the video below). She liked the finished products though.

  1. Jacob had the same reaction. Did she like Charlie Brown? Jacob did.

  2. p.s. your picture of our lunch turned out so much better than mine.

  3. That was really funny! Hailey looked adorable….and – Happy Belated Birthday…to you! Natalie

  4. my lord, could you guys be handed any appliance breakdowns!? when it rains, it pours… my mom always said everything happens in threes… weird. anyway, kudos to you guys for holding it together and having a fantastic halloween for lil’ hails. she looked adorable.
