This just in. We had a fluke potty training incident just now!
We went to our second home, Target this morning for some errands and I decided to buy Hailey a seat that goes on “mommy’s potty”. We talked about it while we were in the store, how when we got home she would sit on mommy’s potty and put in the poo-poos. I’m sure you read about our “bye-bye poo-poos” bed incident from the other day, right? We just got to thinking it might be “about time”.
We just got home and I took the seat out of it’s package and put it on the toilet. I asked her if she’d like to try to go and she said, “ok”. So, off came the diaper and I sat her on the potty, expecting, well, nothing. I walked away to grab her new pack of pull-ups and when I returned, she was PEEING. SHE PEED IN THE POTTY. WHAT???
I was totally missing it too! This HAD to have been a fluke. Although, her diaper was literally dry since we left earlier this morning. COULD THIS BE IT? She’s not even two yet!
Ok, really, I’m getting all excited over nothing here because it HAD TO HAVE BEEN A FLUKE, RIGHT?

I don’t think it is a fluke. Hailey is smart, and she can already talk about the poo poo. Gabby went on the potty at 18 months. We didn’t force the subject because she was so young, but she started wearing underwear at her 2nd b-day. She was ready. Her potty training was effortless. Hailey is on her way! – Nat
go hailey! i don’t think it’s a fluke. they go when they are ready. my oldest, sophie, was completely potty trained and wearing big girl panties at 20 months. she was just ready. what a big girl little miss hailey is!
Ok. It may NOT have been a fluke, but she may not do it again for a while. Somewhere, in her head, she may say “Hmm. I did it. What’s the big deal?” And not do it again for a while… Just trying to say, don’t be surprised if she regresses and regresses hard. Or not. Some kids are overnight trainers. Some are 2 years of wet pants. It’s a guessing game that I am not excited to jump into again. Here’s to hoping it’ll be a snap for her!
Wow! The closest we get to a poo-poo discussion is Jack running away from me when I say, “Are you poopy?”We’ve got some work ahead of us…Can’t wait to see ya next week!
Oooh! Hopefully it isn’t a fluke. Wouldn’t it be nice if potty training is super easy? I hear it is for some people!
Wow ~ that is awesome! Way to go Hailey!
I hope she keeps this up! :)
wow amy! that is great!!! i don’t think it’s a fluke either, and i hope this sends you all on your way to being big girls and wearing big girl undies!!! but don’t get your hopes up… georgia did this too at a very early age. even pooped in the potty. but it went in streaks. she’d show signs of being ready, go in the potty, then not go for months in the potty no matter what i tried. and i tried not to force it so she wouldn’t regress as the girl above suggested. cause she’s right. that’s exactly what happened. she did it. then she stopped. but i’ve also heard where potty training is just that easy and that quick for others! I HOPE YOU HAVE THAT STORY!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!
