We went to this new shopping area called The Promenade today in a nearby suburb. You can read more about it on my Chicago Moms Blog post HERE.

Whoever came up with this shopping center plan is a GENIUS in my book. It’s an outdoor shopping area that is laid out like a little town. We hung out in the children’s area with Hailey. It has fountains spouting out of the cushy ground and giant hippos huppos hanging around. She made fast friends with the hippos huppos.

Well, you know where you can find us now! Hailey had a total blast. She had everyone laughing at how excited she was. She wasn’t interested in going very near the fountains but loved running around barefoot in the water. She splashed around in the water for an hour, at least. She was pretty soaked at that point so we needed to find a place to change her. I always stress when I have to change her in public places because she freaks out at the site of a changing table in a cramped up restroom stall. Seriously, you should see the look on her face. We discovered that this center has an INCREDIBLE family area! It’s huge and homey and has a/c. We were just thrilled with this new find.

They have special events too. This week I’m going to take her to meet the author of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and later in the week, Clifford, the big red dog.
