There’s no place like home

Trip to PA – Day Two

Hailey seemed to gravitate toward Eric most of the night at the motel, practically leaving him no room at all on the bed. I guess we make sacrifices for the comfort of our little ones, don’t we now?

We woke up in the morning and had a cold delicious continental breakfast. The motel patrons just thought Hailey was the most adorable thing ever when she proceeded to point out that daddy had “car seat” coffee in his hand.

After a few z’s and skimming through the June 11th issue of People (thanks Kerry!), we reached the border of PA…hooray!

Hailey is now busy in the backseat drawing priceless pieces of art on her mini magna doodle. She isn’t satisfied until both Eric and I have inspected the art and have given her the seal of approval.

It didn’t really take her too long to get “settled in” at Grammy Peggy’s house. She made herself right at home, watching DVD’s and playing with my old toys. She even took a nice nap for us. I was surprised because she generally doesn’t nap comfortably at anyone’s house but her own.

Hailey woke up just in time to see her cousin Alexa before her softball game. She and Hailey had a little bit of time to get re-acquainted since they haven’t seen each other in about 5 months or so. Then we went out to Benzinger Park to see the ball game. Hailey was more interested in playing at the park and trying to crawl off of the bridge into the creek.

After the game, we met up with Uncle Bill, Stacey and Grammy Peggy for dinner.

When we got back to Grammy Peggy’s house, we played out in the yard for a while where I tried to teach her “Ring Around the Rosie” and she didn’t really want any part of it. Uncle Bill and Stacey came by to hang out with us too.

We had a very fun day getting to see Grammy, uncles and cousins again!
