Hailey and I spent the morning at the doctor’s office…for me. I’ve been having some tests done to try and find out what has been ailing me (vomiting, sinus infections, tiredness, etc.) She DOES NOT like the doctor’s office. It doesn’t matter if we’re there for her or me, she very much expresses her discontent. I knew this was going to be a short visit so I brought her with me. She cried the entire time. She was waving and saying “bye” to everyone as we left the office. I kept thinking, “I’m sure they’ll be happy to get rid of us.”
The rest of the day sort of went the same way. The little miss just wasn’t happy with anything all day long. I suppose she’s entitled to have days like that. After all, she is a girl. :) So, I excuse her moodiness and give her some TLC.
Eric came home from work and we started talking about how Hailey has been acting differently, more “grown up” if you will. She’s starting to make more facial expressions. “Mean face” is one of them (hoping to catch that one on the camera). Just tonight before bed, she was batting her eyelashes at me (oh no!). She asks for “nilk” (milk, obviously) and “juice”. It’s happened just recently that she distinguishes between the two.

She can repeat words after me to make a sentence. We’ve been working on “Where did he go?” She even has the hand/arm gesture down and the question in her voice. It’s sort of weird to hear her speak in almost a full sentence.
After our friend Kerry set up a toddler bed for Jacob and things “seem” to be going well, the idea has been popping up in my head more often. Hailey is a toddler. It is a toddler bed. Maybe we should try the toddler bed with Hailey. Luckily, her crib turns into one…or maybe not so lucky because if it doesn’t work, we’ll have to put the crib back together. This weekend would be a good one to try it out so I think we’re going to give it a shot. I wonder if I’ll have a story to tell by the end of the weekend? Stay tuned…

I love your collages! We’re going to Lincoln Park Zoo tomorrow!!Steph
I sure hope she will stay in bed for you Amy.
We tried that with Gabby around 18 months and did great the first night. The next day, she realized that she could get out of bed and do whatever she wanted. By the third day, she was taking no naps…and falling asleep on the floor by the gated door. We decided to hold off until after the second B-day. She then did fine. It was really pretty hysterical. natalie
