“HANDMADE”
Today’s CHBM’s Photo Friday topic is one that I’m happy to post about. We are fortunate enough to have relatives that can crochet/knit. When I was pregnant with Hailey, a couple of my aunts and Eric’s Grandma got busy working on some handmade items for the little bean. My Aunt Ruby crocheted a little sweater, hat and bootie set for Hailey. She used a pattern that her mother, my grandmother, used. To me, that is something very special. Hailey wore the set to her baptism.

Eric’s Grandma knitted a cream colored blanket and my Aunt Donna knitted a purple blanket for her. They are so soft and Hailey loves cuddling up into them.

I was so touched to receive these handmade gifts from family members. To me, these are the most thoughtful gifts. You know that while they are putting their hard work into the gifts, they are thinking about the little one. Now that’s a gift made of love, if you ask me.

I was thrilled to travel from CHBM to your site….as we are big lady bug fans in our household. Although, with all of my planning, my ladybug decided she liked Butterflies better. Oh, how sad for mommy. The beautifully made items for your kidlet are very, very cute. And I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to change your 0 People love me….to be more reflective of the truth. Happy Friday, our best to you!
Oh I bet those blankets are so soft!!Linda
A tiny little widow in our church always knits (crochets?) the sweetest things for every baby. I treasure those precious gifts. visiting from chbm
I think homemade baby blankets are the best gift! :-)
There’s nothing like wrapping a baby up in a blanket made with love.
Can someone tell me what to do with 25 of them when your kids are getting older…my youngest uses some for “baby” blankets but it tears my heart out even thinking about getting rid of just one.
I agree with Heather above. I have a bunch of them, too. Maybe we could whipstitch them all together and make a HUGE mismatched afghan for their college dorm room. LOLGifts made for babies by older relatives are awesome! My grandmother made flannel blankets for my #2. I had her picture taken with them, but didn’t use them as they were too precious. It was the last thing my gram ever sewed.
