This morning, we took Hailey to the annual Ashbury Easter Egg Hunt. The morning started out great. The weather was cooperating and there were a ton of activities for the kiddos like bubbles, hula hoops, chalk, coloring, face painting, etc.

The great Peter Cottontail himself even made an appearance! This time, however, Hailey was a bit shy with him. I think she was expecting Pete, who was at the mall a few weeks ago. We had to explain to her that our holiday friends have “helpers” and that they can’t possibly be everywhere all at one time.

She kept her shy face on but let us snap a few pictures anyway. After we posed with Peter, we went outside to check out the fire truck. Hailey met a real live fire fighter! She wasn’t interested in having a picture with him though.
Shortly after we arrived, Nana Pat came to hang out. We were enjoying the weather and watching Hails run around and play when all of the sudden, WOOPS! She did a face plant right on the sidewalk. All went downhill from there. She skinned her chin and her knuckles but overall she was fine, just a little shaken. Then, the we scurried off to get ready for the egg hunt. Our friends arrived just in time!

At this point, Hailey was somewhat of a wreck. She saw a balloon and that’s all she wanted. “Boon! Boon! Boon!” She was saying. She wasn’t happy with me keeping her still. I wanted her to have a fair chance at the eggs so we needed to be FOCUSED. Actually, there were plenty of eggs for all of the kids. We helped her gather the allowed twelve eggs and headed home for the afternoon. Cuts, scrapes, sleepiness and teething are not a good combination. Oh well, we still had some fun!

Too cute! I love her outfit! she looks like she is just having a blast!I can’t wait for Mae’s Easter Egg hunt!
