Thanksgiving

It’s early on Tuesday morning. I finished feeding Hailey and put her back down to sleep in her crib. My thoughts were to go back to bed myself but I came downstairs instead because I’m hungry and I figure I might as well get a headstart on the day. I just opened the blinds on our bay window in the breakfast nook and the sun is shining through very brightly. It immediately occurred to me that I have a lot to be thankful for and it’s so easy to get caught up in the fast paced world and put these things in the back of my mind. So, that being said, here is a list in no particular order, of some of the things I am so very thankful for:

* My love for a specific genre of music and helping out friends, because without that, I would have never met my husband.
* Eric, because he keeps me going every day.
* Our house, I often times forget how fortunate we are to be able to own one.
* The egg and the sperm that created Hailey.
* Hailey.
* My family (Immediate and extended)
* My friends, far and near.
* My laptop and cable internet, keeps me fairly sane throughout the day.
* My digital camera.
* Heat, for when it’s freezing outside.
* A/C, for when it’s hot outside.
* The ability to love and forgive, without those two things, I’d be awfully lonely.
* My cats, who have taken the backseat since Hailey arrived but who are still my fur babies.
* My ambition to get out and do something for myself.
* Hailey’s swing, it helps to soothe her when she’s waiting for her bottle.
* Eric’s laptop, so he can have a creative outlet.
* Eric’s job, so we can continue to live in this house.
* My mom and dad, for setting a fantastic example of love and family.
* Concert venues, where I’m able to rock out.
* The bands that write and perform the music that let me rock out.
* The instruments that produce the music that let the bands rock out.
* The sun for shining this morning, because it’s going to be a long day and evening.
* God
* My health (which is for crap right now but at least I have it)
* This blanket, right now, for keeping me warm.

It’s amazing what the sun can do to one’s thoughts at 7:00 a.m.
