A growing infant

Yesterday marked Hailey’s 3 month birthday…YIPPEE! I’ll start there and just summarize her progress in the last month or so. That’s why I’m labeling this post as month 3, because this is everything that has taken place in her third month.

As of yesterday, 1/22/06, Hailey can do the following:

*squeal in delight
*hold her head up and look around when propped up on the boppy for tummy time
*pay attention to toys and sounds (rattle, etc.)
*look at her fists, hasn’t quite opened them to discover her fingers yet
*sleep from about 9 pm or so until 6 or 7 am without feeding during the night
*take 4 to 5 oz. of formula
*study faces

She likes to:
*communicate with us by saying: goo, gee, make gurgling noises, mumble little ooohhs and aaahhs and then smiling and trying to laugh

What I like to practice with her:

*rolling her over, going from right to left
*helping her sit up straight by holding her up instead of letting her lean back on me
*taking naps in her crib instead of on the couch beside me or in the pack-n-play’s bassinet
*letting her touch things so she can start to understand different textures
*singing the alphabet to her
*reading books before bedtime
