Scarface & the act of “sharing”

Ollie is in the process of scratching off his face again. We had this problem about a year and a half ago with him. He proceeds to take his back foot to his face and compulsively scratch off the fur until he’s bloody and whiskerless. No one ever told me that cats could have allergies too. His nickname once again shall be, “Scarface”. There is still a tiny scar under his eye, left over from the last time he did this.

Here’s a quickie blog for tonight…just to keep things “fresh”. I like that…”fresh”. We started cleaning out the room – the nursery, that is. It hit me tonight for the first time, this is our little girl’s room now. No longer ours to compile vast amounts of stuff into. We are now required to share our space with another human being; a small, unknowing one albeit; but another human being at that. Sort of a reality check for me. I really wouldn’t say I was spoiled growing up in a household of 7 brothers and being the youngest, but I will say that I didn’t have to do much sharing of Barbie dolls and My Little Ponies. My stuff stayed in my room and no one touched it. Here, we have a house full of “our” stuff and we will now have to share it with a third member of our family. Good thing I have time to get used to this!

Let it be known…the child WILL be spoiled…but she will definitely know the rules.
